Please connect with us via Live Stream, on Social Media or Email. We are a growing, thriving synagogue community in Wayland, Massachusetts. Although our physical space is closed, our clergy, staff, members and their families are staying safe at home and connecting in unique ways. Our services are broadcast live on our website, as well as on Facebook and YouTube. Join us for Simchat Shabbat every Friday evening at 6:15 pm and early morning Shacharit services at 8:30 am each Saturday morning. We encourage you to join us on Facebook for Welcoming Shabbat Meditation every Friday at 5:30 pm and if you have younger children at home, our Friday morning ELC Tot Shabbat at 10:15 am. Teachers in our Religious School and Early Learning Center are providing remote learning resources to our young people and adults are holding meetings, virtual happy hours and other social activities via videoconferencing technology. Perhaps, this is the time to ask yourself: What kind of human being am I? What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses? What can I do that will help me become a better person? How does who I am impact others and the world around me? Mussar offers an answer. The study and practice of Mussar is a centuries old Jewish tradition that is as relevant today as it was 1000 years ago. You can live a meaningful, ethical life by examining your inner middot, soul traits, and cultivating behavior that is an expression of the best version of yourself. Through study, honest reflection and contemplative practices, you can become the person you would like to be. Mussar will guide you toward overcoming your inner obstacles so that you can improve the quality of you own character which will improve the quality of the relationships you have with others. Through personal transformation, you will improve the civility of the world in which we live. Together we will exercise our souls using text study, group discussion, study with a chevruta (partner), journaling and targeted practices. The cost for each of the courses is $180.
